Cannock Chase drive in Nature Reserve.

Today I went to one of my favourite spots on Cannock Chase. Here you simply pull in to the car park and watch the birds from your warm cars. Over the years there has been some rare sightings here like a Hawfinch regularly visits every year. There are also a lot of other birds there like Yellow Hammers, Bullfinch's, Nuthatches, House Sparrows, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Long-tailed Tits, Magpies, Crows, Marsh Tits and many more. Along with all the birds there are also a lot of Fallow deer that visit and Foxes that visit mainly just before dusk. Here are some photos and a short clip of a Fox that visited. Unfortunately I didn't bring my Camera and had to use my phone for photos but I am planning to return very soon to get some better photos. I hope you enjoy this post.

The Derby Cathedral Peregrines.

A few weeks ago I went to Derby city centre to see the Peregrine Falcons that live in the Cathedral. The Peregrines have lived in the Cathedral since 2006 and people around the world come to visit them with a guarantee of seeing them. Peregrines are the fastest predator in the world and you can also watch the Peregrines from anywhere as their are webcams in there box. Here is the website for more information and to watch them live: http://derbyperegrines.blogspot.co.uk/

When we first went to the box there was nothing there.

Derby Cathedral.

When we returned they were both there! This was very
promising as It means they could be having chicks again this year.

The Wolseley Centre.

A few weeks back I visited The Wolseley Centre that isn't too far from Lichfield. At this time of year the birds are the most friendly as it is still cold and they will do anything for food and they need to fatten themselves up for the breeding season too. Some of the Robins were so friendly they ate from my hand. Here are some photos that I took and If you would like more information about The Wolseley Centre and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust visit there official website: http://www.staffs-wildlife.org.uk/page/home

Lichfield to Fradley Junction.

Last week I went on another walk to Fradley Junction. I noticed lots of different signs of Spring including Lambs, birds singing and birds in pairs. Here are some of the photos I took.

St.Michaels Church yard.

As soon as the Snowdrops came into flower a few weeks back I went straight to St.Michaels Church yard as I was certain there were lots of different spring flowers such as Snowdrops, Daffodils and Crocuses. When I visited I was very surprised how much wildlife was there! It was like a nature reserve! Here are some photos that I took and If you have any photos of St.Michaels Church why not add them to the official flickr page; http://www.flickr.com/groups/2136008@N20/
